Meetings are at Friends Meeting House, Watford Road, Cotteridge unless specified otherwise.
Meetings are from 10am - 4pm on the second Saturday of the month. Workshops start at 10 o'clock prompt (and finish at 4) and talks start at 2pm unless stated otherwise in the programme. Where it is a half-day activity we still meet at 10am for skill-sharing, coffee and chat and whatever craft activity we are working on - and you don't have to be a member to join us.
13 January 11am Textile Holidays - talk by guild members 2pm AGM
10 February Members morning followed by talk by Theo Wright: A Weaver inspired by Mathematics - Designing and weaving geometric textiles that explore pattern, contrast and colour.
10 March Workshop: Introduction to Freestyle Weaving, Bee Weir - learn how to combine colours. textures and thicknesses of yarn to create your own cloth.
14 April Members morning followed by talk by Leslie Horden: The Angora Rabbit - includes a demonstration of spinning and carding with angora.
12 May Members morning followed by talk by Sarah Hunt: Bolivia to Guatemala; A journey through South and Central American textiles.
9 June Back to Back - Guild members will make a garment from fleece to final product in one day - venue to be arranged.
14 July Dyeing Workshop with Debbie Tomkies of DT Craft and Design - Designing and creating self-patterning yarns.
August - No Meeting
8 September Members Textile Tasters Day - sharing our skills and trying out new crafts
13 October Members Day
10 November Open Day and Exhibition
8 December Members Day & Christmas bring and share lunch
In addition, members of the Guild demonstrate our crafts at various public places throughout the year, including regular demonstrations at Winterbourne House on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.
