I can't believe we are in a new year! I have written a whole year of blog posts and here I am trying to remember how to set up a new year. Sadly my memory is so bad these days that if I haven't made a note of something I forget it in double quick time. We have just had our first meeting of the guild this year and we had to meet online again not face to face as had been planned. We had 17 participants in our guild AGM and all went well.

We started with reports, Cyndi telling us that our finances are in good order, Charlotte talking about our exciting new programme for this year and listening to Carolyn summing up our year and thanking everyone. Also our secretary's report, efficient as always. Carolyn and Mandy stood down as joint chairs and were not expecting anyone to volunteer for the job this year so when  Rachel volunteered we were all delighted. Thank you very much Rachel and we know you will be a brilliant chair. Sarah is taking over as new treasurer this year with Cyndi's help with Ruth as vice treasurer.

So lets get down to the competition! There were 4 suggestions and after a vote, we have our new theme.......MAKE DO AND MEND. This is to be interpreted in any way we choose and entries are to be submitted for our Open Day in May.

There was time for a chat at the end mostly about using the 2021 Census which is now available online. Mandy seems to be descended from royalty, Rachel has designer hatmakers in her past, Sarah has traced her family tree back to the 1600s and Tina has Welsh relatives who changed their surnames in the 1800s and I've found out my great grandad in Wales was a wool weaver...... lots more to research I'm sure!
